Janine and Matt made my job as a wedding photographer super easy. Sweet personalities, great looking couple, fun friends and wonderful locations!
Please enjoy, Scott Shaw Photo | Cleveland Wedding Photographer
After making some of my favorite engagement photos ever
(link at the end of this blog post) I was eagerly anticipating
Janine and Matt’s wedding day. The Aloft Hotel has cool rooms
and great backdrops inside and out for photography too.
I started with Matt and his guys while
we waited for Janine and her ladies to arrive from the spa.
Eric and John talk with Matt.
Matt helps Nate with his tie.
Love this silhouette of John while Matt makes his final adjustments.
As a wedding photographer I like the challenge of finding
unique and interesting photos that most people miss.
The elevator in the Aloft Hotel has this material on the
floor which changes with the pressure of the feet.
Some billiards were in order before we headed out for portraits of the guys.
Janine’s mother Gwen helps steady her while her wedding dress is laced up.
Rachel and Lauren help with the shoes.
Janine and Matt read their letters to each other.
The ladies depart for the Great Lakes Science Center with the sign
from Ken Stewart’s East Bank restaurant above them.
I wonder what Matt was thinking just before the ceremony started.
The outdoor deck at the Great Lakes Science Center in Cleveland is a great
location as Janine and her father Dave walk down the aisle.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum in the background is a great visual too!
Matt’s favorite Cleveland Browns playing location is not far from the ceremony.
Harper starts the bubble blowing early.
Better clouds could not have been ordered for Janine and Matt’s wedding day!
Rev. Richard Beck performed the ceremony.
The Steamship William G. Mather is one of the exhibits at the Great Lakes
Science Center. The 1925 freighter is an amazing tour so check it out.
The windy day was lots of fun with Janine’s veil.
More of that will be seen in the portrait photos.
The first kiss was magnificent with that backdrop and notice the
two seagulls together in the background? Let’s go with
that is heavy symbolism and a good omen.
The guests headed upstairs for the cocktail hour and were able
to have fun with the science attractions
while we went off to do portraits.
With little time we walked over to Voinovich Park for the photos.
I think these photos turned out well-even if you don’t
factor in that we made them all in about 30 minutes.
Then it was time to walk back to the Great Lakes Science Center
for the reception. The passthrough at the
Rock and Roll Hall of Fame was very windy.
What a glorious backdrop for the reception.
Matt and his mother Sue danced and Janine was with her father Dave.
After dinner the couple went around and tried a few of the science exhibits.
Isn’t this ring shot high tech fun?
Then we were back for more dancing with Matt’s favorite band,
Disco Inferno. They kept the dance floor full all
night with their high energy music.
What a great wedding!
Please check out their engagement photos here. I promise it’s worth it!
