I was excited for my first Marriott Downtown Key Center wedding since they remodeled.
Please enjoy, Scott Shaw Photo | Cleveland Wedding Photographer
We started and ended at the Marriott Downtown Key Center with the getting ready and the reception there. The newly
redone lobby and ballroom looked beautiful.
Lauren: “I always dreamed of a downtown Cleveland winter wedding – I love the hustle and bustle of city life
and downtown Cleveland is so pretty in the winter holiday season. The Christmas lights at Public Square are
always spectacular. We shopped around at venues for a bit but once we saw the newly renovated Downtown Marriott
at Key Center, we knew it was the spot for us. The Grand Ballroom and lobby are brand new and the renovated space
is lovely, modern, and sophisticated – exactly what we wanted for our wedding.”
After the ceremony at St. Basil the Great in Brecksville we had about an hour of light before dusk. We took
photos at the Cleveland Museum of Art and outside the Museum of Contemporary Art before heading downtown for the
chandelier and Christmas lights in Public Square.
One uncommon feature that was around all day was a Viking helmet and horn. Lauren: “Jim is Lithuanian and
Nemunaitis is his last name and is actually the name of a small town in Lithuania as well! It’s a longstanding
joke with his family that they are direct descendants of Vikings or so Jim likes to think! Jim jokes that the
horn is his Viking battle horn.”
Jim’s sisters, Kaitlyn and Heather take a photo.
I liked the reflection the hanger made on the art.
Lauren’s mother, Lisa, made a phone call.
Jim wore his Viking helmet as brother and best man Greg captured it on his phone.
First look with Lauren and her father Jim.
The bridesmaids insisted a photo was taken in front of the trees as Lauren
hid from her future husband before the ceremony.
Jim’s parents Greg and Janet looked on as Lauren and her father Jim headed to Jim.

The bridal party posed under the sculpture Judy’s Hand by Tony Tasset from the 2018
Front International at the Museum of Contemporary Art Cleveland.
