Christina and Thomas had a Hyatt Arcade wedding that was one of the most enjoyable I’ve photographed!
Please enjoy, Scott Shaw Photo | Cleveland Wedding Photographer
I love that my clients really care about making great photos on their Hyatt Arcade wedding day and Christina and
Thomas were very involved in helping make that happen as you will see!
They’ve never lived in the same city together since they have been dating. Christina: “I lived in Ann Arbor and
Thomas lived in Buffalo and yet we saw each other almost every weekend in the time we were dating for one and a half
years and only missed about 5 weekends. That also totaled to approximately 43,900 miles of driving to see each other.
“We picked our ceremony and reception location because we were from different cities and our church communities
were both extremely important to us and thus, we wanted them to be able to attend and stand with us on our wedding day.
Rather than ask groups of people to drive 5-6 hours to attend, we picked a more central location for everyone!”
Hyatt Arcade weddings are always favorites of mine as the architecture and venue are so stunning. I love the light
there, especially on a sunny day, as it has a such a special glow shining through the skylights. There’s such a wonderful
sense of history there.
The space is now officially called the Hyatt Regency Cleveland at the Arcade and I love how they’ve maintained it.
It opened in 1890 and was modeled after an Italian venue and is said to be the first indoor shopping center in America.
We made lots of fun getting ready photos plus a first look and portraits at the Arcade. Then we went to the Cultural
Gardens for portraits in the Italian Garden and then headed back for the ceremony and reception at their Hyatt Arcade wedding.
For those still reading I can’t delay the viewing any more. Enjoy!
I loved this reflection of the Arcade while Christina got her hair done by Crystal.
Balloons. Because balloons!
Flower girl Isabel checked out the view through the veil.
The first look!
When veils attack!
That cake!
Christina walked down to her parents, John and Mercy, to start the ceremony.
No one could resist photographing Isabel and Caleb.
Thomas was so happy to see Christina.
Christina’s father accidentally stepped on her long veil and Jeff, father of the groom, helped her get it back on.
Christina: “I think my dad stepping on my veil was hilarious! He’s a bit of a goofball but I never expected
him to accidentally do anything like THAT at my wedding! Hahaha!”
Thomas played shy during the first kiss as officiant Daniel looked on.
The bridal party prayed after the ceremony. “We wanted to commit our marriage to the Lord and so our bridal
party also supported us and wanted to pray with us.”
The toasts had Christina laughing in a major way.
When no one wanted to catch the bouquet Isabel ran in and grabbed it.
