Nina and Stephen’s wedding day was extraordinary!
Please enjoy, Scott Shaw Photo | Cleveland Wedding Photographer
This was my last Saturday wedding of the year and what a great way to end the season. Disclaimer: I did have one more wonderful
wedding right after but not on a Saturday!
We started at her family home in Cleveland Heights. There were so many great backdrops in their classic home and I was definitely
drawn to their staircase as there were so many angles and possibilities as you will see.
Then we were off to St. Ann Church not far away. This is one beautiful Catholic church. The architectural details are like no
other I’ve seen in the area.
Ground broke for the church in 1948 with marble from the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Manhattan; and columns, chandeliers, choir loft
railing, and brass and bronze doors from the First National Bank in downtown Cleveland.
Here’s some words from Nina: “I grew up in Cleveland Heights, was a student at St. Ann school and still remember the weekly
masses at the church as a kid. Now, living out of town, I was so excited to share the church with Stephen and all of our out of
town family and friends on the biggest day of our lives. Our loved ones, the beautiful music provided by the church and Opus216
and the Pilla Palermo flowers all filled the space perfectly. My grade school self sitting in the pews during Friday Mass could
never have even dreamed of this as I walked down the aisle looking at Stephen.”
Stephen: “Starting with the wedding mass, to the party trolley to the flawless reception; the entire day flew by. It’s one
I’ll reminisce about for the rest of my life. Our family, friends and all of the vendors helped make the day so special for us and
I couldn’t imagine a better way to celebrate marrying the love of my life!”
After the ceremony we found it to be snowing so that changed our plans for photos at the Cleveland Museum of Art and the
Cleveland Cultural Gardens.
We ended up in the Cleveland flats area for a bit before going to the reception a bit early at the Cuyahoga County
Courthouse. Another location that is hard to top for a reception.
Nina: “I knew from the second I stepped foot in the courthouse it was the venue we needed to have. The empty space alone
is jaw dropping and matches the grand design of the marble church. I vividly remember stepping into the courthouse after escaping
the snow which I valiantly braved in the name of pictures and being brought to tears by how perfect it all was.
“We were so glad to have opted for the sweetheart table in our meeting with Taste of Excellence about the floor plan.
Stephen and I got to take everything in from the best seat in the house and have time, albeit short, to relax and talk one on one.
“Wedding planner Brittany from B.lovely Weddings helped the day seamlessly flow and took the stress off us so we could enjoy the
day and the Cleveland Music Group helped to keep the party going into the evening with great music.
“It was truly a fairytale day that I love reliving through photos!!!!”
Chrissy Hart finished Nina’s makeup.
Diana helped Alli with her dress.
Katie and Chrissy photographed their hair and makeup results.
I loved seeing this photo by Nina’s Uncle Roger Mastroianni taken of the Old Courthouse where we would be a few hours later.

Best man and brother Matthew checked Stephen’s suit.
Nina’s father Tony walked her down the aisle.
Father John led the ceremony at St. Ann Church.
The snow started just before the couple exited the church.

Opus216 provided cocktail hour music.
Amanda and Steph sampled the desserts.
Nina danced with her father Tony.
Stephen danced with his mother Kim.
Uncle Roger and his family had fun in the photo booth. He’s Nina’s Uncle and gave her my name to check out for wedding
photography. He’s known as one of the best photographers in Cleveland and has been the official photographer
for the Cleveland Orchestra for many years.
I’d like to see how this photo turned out – that is a big group!
Nina danced with college friends Mary-Kaye and Kristin.
Bridesmaids Bailey and Cassidy at the photo booth.
Cousin Megan rushed for photo booth yardage.
