Katie and Max wanted their timeless Cleveland wedding at the Union Club which is rich with the city’s history!

Everything for their timeless Cleveland wedding was at the Union Club and it was splendid.
They had so many memories about the wedding I’ll share them now:
Max: “We toured multiple venues, but when we walked into the Union Club, we knew it was the right choice. We are both from Cleveland and have a reputation as being a bit “Cleveland obsessed” with friends and family. Being able to have our venue in downtown, in a building with as rich of a Cleveland history as the Union Club, was super helpful.
“Getting to see Katie for the first time walking down the aisle was more emotional than I expected. I remembered seeing friends emotional at their weddings during this moment, but I never understood why it had impacted them the way it did. Then it happened to me. Seeing how stunning she looked and realizing that I was about to marry my best friend was something that filled me with so much joy it made me emotional.”
Katie: “I could barely keep it together before walking down the aisle and then seeing Max for the first time brought on a whole new wave of emotions. In that moment, there was nobody else in the room but the two of us.”
Max: “I was adamant at the rehearsal that I did not want to practice the vows. I am a bit superstitious and thought it would be most meaningful to wait until the actual wedding to go through the vows. In the moment, without practice, I panicked a little bit and misspoke, and then accidentally repeated the start of Katie’s vows. I really cherished this moment though because it added some levity to a very serious moment, which is consistent with how I am as a person.
“I thought the dance floor was very us. I think we have always been higher energy and every wedding we’ve been to we have been very active on the dance floor. Getting to see all of our family and friends together dancing was something that felt like a perfect fit. It was also so fun to see combinations together on the dance floor I’d never have expected.
Katie: “I was also incredibly emotional throughout the night dancing and spending time with my grandparents. They are 90 and 91 and I felt so lucky that they were there for our big day.”
Max: “Chelsea from A to Z Events truly brought the whole day together to make it the perfect wedding! I don’t think her job description included helping Katie navigate using the bathroom in her wedding dress, but she quickly came to the rescue.
“It was so much fun to talk through it with Katie later that evening. We both had so many stories from throughout the day, and it was amazing to relive it through someone else’s lens and hear about things I maybe didn’t appreciate in the moment. It flew by once it started – I spent the morning walking around town with some of my groomsmen and it felt agonizingly long to get to the start of the day, but once the ceremony started it really felt like it was over in the blink of an eye.”
Katie got ready with her sister Maddie and mother Carolyn.
Best man Simon helped Max with his jacket.
Katie: “This was the first time seeing my dad in my wedding dress. We hadn’t planned to do a reveal, but the moment happened organically and we were both sobbing.”
Bruce and Joe shared a laugh during the cocktail hour.
Katie: “The buzzball shot after her toast is a running inside joke within our family – I couldn’t believe my parents let my sister Maddie get away with doing that.”
Katie’s mom Carolyn and Morgan watched the bride dance with her father.
Max hugged his mother Christine after their dance.
Katie: “The cut out faces! Max’s face was a hit during my bachelorette party, and it was so fun to see everyone running around with the cutouts of our faces. Even the Union Club staff got in on it.”
John and Garrett did their own special choreography.
