Brittany and Steve’s At The Cleveland Metroparks Zoo

Brittany and Steve’s wedding at the zoo was a first for us. They’d never married each other before and I’d never photographed a wedding there! btWBrittanySteve2160nh

When we first met I loved seeing how they relate to each other
and knew they would be fun to spend more time with. During the engagement
session the connection was even more obvious. It was a super cold day
and they did well with the elements.

On their wedding day the weather was perfect and they made it so fun!

We started at their home where they were getting ready on separate floors.
They wanted to do a First Look when we arrived at the zoo
and weren’t going to see other in their wedding clothes until then. btWBrittanySteve0005 btWBrittanySteve0106 btWBrittanySteve0163combo

Their cat, Moska, looks like she wants to bat the jewelry around
but a nearby photographer kept her from wanting to venture closer.

Brittany’s mother Carol and sisters Breanna, Michelle,
Corri and Kristin helped her get ready while Steve enjoyed
hanging with his friends on the front porch.

I loved Steve’s blue suede shoes. Now that I think
about I’m wondering if that song played at the reception.

They were engaged by the elephants at the zoo and wanted
to first see each other there. We couldn’t
see any real elephants so we went with the statue as a substitute.

They married outside Wade Hall. Wade Hall,
one of the oldest zoo buildings in North America, dots the shore of
Waterfowl Lake. Built as a deer barn in 1884 at Cleveland’s Wade
Park – now University Circle – it was moved to its current location
in the early 1970s. Today, Wade Hall is home to a seasonal, Victorian-themed
ice cream parlor.

After father, Nate’s direction, Jackson made his way quickly
down the aisle after hearing his mother Sandra jingling his favorite “puff” snacks.

Did you notice Steve’s smiling face reflected in the window?

I loved seeing the relationship Brittany’s father Brian has with the couple.

This high five reminds me of photos I’ve done of
athletes leaving an arena as their fans watch. If I say “LeBron James
is back with the Cleveland Cavaliers” here will that help my Google
ranking bump up a bit? Hmmmm. Worth a try!

Brittany chose more comfortable shoes to wear than originally planned and her sisters were a mix of comfort. btWBrittanySteve2934

Who doesn’t love neck spooning giraffes?

Breanna and Michelle could not resist making meerkats of themselves.

Then it was off to the ceremony at the Primate, Cat &
Aquatics Building which houses one of the largest collections of primate species in North America.

I always enjoy seeing my engagement photos at the reception!

I love the eyes on this Mandrill.

On the left is a Crowned Lemur. Can anyone tell me what’s on the right?
I could not find a sign.

Maura Rogers and the Bellows played for the first dance.
Meredith (the Bellows) was a bridesmaid at a wedding I did a few years ago
of her brother, Nate. (link below for photos from that wedding) btWBrittanySteve2802 btWBrittanySteve2811

If you know Steve please ask him why he was laughing like this
with his mother Gail. I won’t say! btWBrittanySteve2661crop

This Snow Leopard kept everyone entertained all night.

As did Steve’s dances moves!

I love the photo bomb look with the
Queensland Grouper as a Nurse Shark and Blacktip and
Whitetip Reef Sharks swim by.

I’m so glad I was with Brittany and Steve
for their wedding at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo!
