Meredith and Michael’s entire wedding day was at the Shoreby club in Bratenahl.

The Shoreby Club is a beautiful place for a wedding. Michael
and Meredith’s day was a bit earlier than many receptions and
this allowed us to do portraits at sunset! Since I’m primarily
a Cleveland wedding photographer this does not happen too often.
The Shoreby Club was constructed in 1890 as the summer home of
Samuel Mather, a senior partner of his own company and a founding
director of U.S. Steel.

We started with photos of Meredith getting ready upstairs
in the mansion while Michael was downstairs. When everyone was
set the couple did a first look on the gorgeous staircase
in the front of the house.

After the Ketubah signing the ceremony took place on the
north terrace overlooking Lake Erie. The weather was sunny
and the perfect temperature.

Meredith’s mother Barbara steadied her as Michael’s mother, Dana, helped with her shoes.

The first look. Meredith said, “Our first look was so special.
I remember waiting at the top of the steps with such anticipation.
Neither of us were nervous though, but right before we saw each other
we thought, “this is real.”

Rabbi Joshua Skoff was in charge at the Ketubah, the signing
process for a Jewish wedding contract.

Michael looked under the veil after the signing. Meredith said “the
significance is to remark out loud that the woman in front of
your is your bride before your witnesses, as to not have any
mix-ups. In the bible, Jacob wanted to marry Rachel, but his
father tricked him by making Jacob marry Leah who was blind, by
covering her in a very heavy veil.”

The Shoreby Club is one of the classiest venues for a Cleveland
wedding photographer and it was an honor to spend the day with
Meredith and Michael. Thanks to Ryan for assisting me on this day.
