Alison and Jesse’s day at the Tudor Arms Hotel was a great way to start off the busiest part of the wedding season.
Please enjoy, Scott Shaw Photo | Cleveland Wedding Photographer
I had been working with Alison and her mother Kyong and knew the event would be well
planned and well done. It was nice to be so trusted in advising them
on how we could make everything wonderful for photos on their day at the Tudor Arms Hotel.
I met with them several times over the last year and talked quite a bit by phone.
(Kyong even joked recently that she missed talking to me) They’re
such a sweet family. Alison and Jesse’s engagement photos were
wonderful and please look for the link at the end of this blog post.
We started at the Tudor Arms Hotel with getting ready photos and then their first
look. After that portraits at the Cuyahoga County Courthouse
and the Cleveland Museum of Art before the ceremony.
Back at the Tudor Arms Hotel for the stunningly beautiful ceremony and reception.
A few years back I did a bridal show at the hotel
and had been looking forward to photographing a wedding there.
The Tudor Arms Hotel is a Double Tree by Hilton Hotel and the Gothic Revival
building was built in 1929.
I love Alison and Kyong reflected together in the mirror while her makeup was being done.
Jesse was given a Rolex watch for his wedding present.
Jesse wrote a note to Alison while reflected in a bridal portrait from many years ago.
Alison hugged her father Marty before the ceremony.
We did the first look in the hotel’s staircase and I loved how Jesse reacted. I
love this chapter in a couple’s wedding day and strive to tell it
with more than just two or three photos.
Then we were off to the Cuyahoga County Courthouse. It was pouring rain
outside and due to the Cleveland Marathon the next day the street
was blocked off. We had a bit of a walk and left the bridal party
on the bus. The couple insisted on getting the classic spiral
staircase photos they’ve seen me shoot before.
By the time we arrived at the Cleveland Museum of Art the rain had stopped.
This is a favorite place for Cleveland wedding photography.
Alison’s grandmother, Dong, waited to walk down the aisle.
Alison and her father Marty made a dramatic entrance.
Jesse broke the glass under the chupah as officiant Dr. James Showers watched.
Alison danced with her father, Marty, while Jesse danced with his mother, Jackie.
The couple was hoisted in the air during the hora.
Alison talked with her grandmother Dong.
