Dunham Tavern Museum Wedding Ahead

They live near the Cedar-Lee neighborhood and we made some photos in their house first
with their sweet dogs. Then we walked in the neighborhood and found some fun backdrops.

Their neighborhood is perfect for Cleveland Heights engagement photography.

From there we went to the Shaker Lakes area just before the sun set.

The couple will be getting married at the Dunham Tavern Museum in Cleveland. I’ve been
there to photograph the historic location in the past.
But never for Cleveland wedding photography!

Dunham was once a stagecoach stop on Buffalo-Cleveland-Detroit post road. Today Dunham
Tavern Museum is the oldest building still standing on its original site in
the city of Cleveland. The 1824 home of Rufus and Jane Pratt Dunham in MidTown
Cleveland. It is a designated Cleveland Landmark listed on the National Register of
Historic Places. In stark contrast to the cityscape that surrounds it, the museum
and its gardens offer a glimpse of history and insight into the lifestyles of
early Ohio settlers and travelers.

The wedding reception will be in the barn. Originally, there were stables to the west side
of the Tavern with ample room for 15 horses. The barn was a large structure
used for storing harvested crops and fodder for oxen and horses. The original
Dunham Barn was built in the 1840s with hand-hewn timbers, cut nails, and simple
stone-on-ground foundations. With a few variations, like gable-entry doors, features
of the barn were representative of traditional English construction.
