Julia and John’s wedding at the Westin Cleveland Downtown was a Cleveland destination wedding.

While it’s Julia’s hometown, she said “the vast majority of their guests
came to Cleveland for the wedding. We felt so lucky and
loved that everyone was a part of our celebration.”
It was a bit cold out on their wedding so Julia wanted to stay inside the
Westin the entire day which we did. It was easy to do with
the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception there. There were
so many great backdrops in the hotel for photos.
Once everyone was ready the couple met in front of the Westin’s beautiful
reception area for a first look. Julia was so excited to see
John she turned around before he was near her and ran to him.
They clearly enjoyed their time together before the ceremony. We took photos
with the wedding party around the Westin before guests arrived.
The ladies each chose their own dresses with a similar color theme and I love
when that happens. I think it looks so classy and elegant. It
allowed each to shine as a person and show their style while
supporting Julia on her wedding day.
Julia’s dress was by Monique Lhullier. The men had sharp blue suits with a mix
of neckties and bow ties from Suitsupply. John’s shoes which
I loved were by Stubbs & Wootton and they looked so comfortable.
The ceremony in the ballroom at the Westin was beautiful. The lights were down
on those sitting down and the focus was clearly
on the couple’s nuptials.
John’s father, Rev. Dr. John T. Rhodes, Sr., was the officiant.
The reception was gorgeously appointed and the Bluewater Kings kept the
dance floor full all night.
The photo booth by Cleveland Photo and Video Booths was popular as was the
backdrop from the ceremony next to it. Photos were taken there
all night long. Blooms by Plantscaping created the flower backdrop
and also did all of the other flower arrangements and bouquets. Julia
mentioned how pleased she was with Vincent Lighting’s work for the event.
“We honeymooned right after to Japan and Bali for just under three weeks. We
walked up the aisle at the end of the ceremony to “Signed, Sealed,
Delivered” and I had a great memory of it being played on the dance
floor later on in the night.”
What a great wedding! So glad to be part of it.
All of the groomsmen were John’s best men while Julia’s sister, Lisa, was the maid of honor.
What a happy look on John’s face as Julia walked down the aisle with
her parents, Meryl and Dan.
Benjamin was very popular at the reception and never wanted for someone to hold
him. Julia said about him: “Ben’s parents and grandparents were at
the wedding, they are very close family friends of our family. My
mom met the baby’s grandma when the baby’s mom and I were in preschool
together. The baby’s grandma co-hosted my bridal shower back in April.”
John danced with his mother, Elizabeth and Julia danced with her father, Dan.
Thank you for viewing this wedding,
