High Line Car House Wedding in Columbus

Lindsey and Jason had a classic ceremony at the Upper Arlington Station 71 Firehouse and a gorgeous reception at the High Line Car House in Columbus.

I’m so glad I headed south for this wedding! When I saw the locations with the firehouse and
the High Line Car House wedding reception I was excited.

We started with the ladies at Hotel LeVeque while my assistant Amy photographed the guys at their house. This was
easily one of the most beautiful hotels I’ve photographed for getting ready photos.

After the First Look there we had a bit of time for portraits in downtown Columbus and it was super hot! Then off
to the ceremony at the Upper Arlington firehouse where Jason sometimes works along with another firehouse in the city.
This was the first wedding held outside the firehouse.

Lindsey: “Jason had to go through a lot of different avenues to make it happen, more than we had originally
anticipated. He’s been with Upper Arlington for three years this February as a firefighter/paramedic. Upper Arlington fire
is important to us because it provided Jason his dream job and he loves going into work and has made us very happy and
appreciative as couple.”

Lindsey’s dad, Yoon Kauh, somewhat recently passed from cancer and his presence was felt at the wedding. “My
wedding day was extremely difficult without him but my mom, sister and I talked about really trying not to cry and to
just think about how happy my Dad would be on the day. My dad had a big personality and he is EXTREMELY missed. My mom,
sister, dad and I are a very close knit family. It was mainly just us growing up so his absence has been difficult.”

After the photos there we were off to the reception for this High Line Car House wedding. “We chose High
Line Car House because we wanted a venue that was different from the normal wedding/convention rooms. We also wanted
another place that would photograph nicely, we liked the uniqueness of the chandeliers, brick walls and wood floors,
would provide us with an intimate feeling. “

This was a very special wedding and the family and friends were all so sweet. I will always remember the
bond everyone had this day.

Kaia was the flower girl and is Lindsey’s niece. “She is the first grandchild for my
parents. She was born when my father was diagnosed with cancer and
was his “medicine”. She helped keep him fighting. We now feel
that part of him is in her. She has his light, fun and funny spirit.”

The couple exited and no that’s not MY tripod photobombing this moment!

Courtney’s toast was wonderful.

The kids did the latest dance craze, the Floss, from the video game Fortnite.

Lindsey: “Camela was amazing and the day would not have happened without her and her staff! I cannot say enough
good things about her and all the work she did. She orchestrated the whole ceremony part which we were most nervous
about since it was thought up by us. We got no help from the city of the station other than an okay to have our
wedding there. We had forgotten to order rose petals for the flower girl and realized while we were upstairs in
the firehouse, minutes before the ceremony. Camela tried calling the florist to see if she could get some from them
but they were not answering their phones. A few minutes later, I look over and here comes Camela with the flower girl
basket filled with beautiful petals. She had ran over to the florist, literally, and got petals for us. She was amazing
and I am so thankful for her. She allowed us to have our dream wedding and not have to worry about anything other
than the hot bus.”

I love it when my couples have such a helpful wedding planner!

Since I shared about Camela I’ll do the same with some nice things Lindsey said about me: “We honestly enjoyed you soo
soo much, thank you so much for allowing us to enjoy the day and not have to worry about if our pictures were going
to be good. We went on and on the next several days about how glad we were that we chose you and how excited we were
to see your work. I saw the beautiful work you did for my cousin Alison’s wedding and fell in love with it. I was just
nervous about you not being from the area but super excited about our decision the day we met you! Jason and I really
really enjoyed you and watching you work. It was so cool!!!”

Okay thus ends this blog post with easily one of my favorite couples I’ve ever photographed!
