Cleveland Summer Engagement Session
Their Cleveland summer engagement session was not too warm and the light was golden for their photos. The couple has such a sweet, relaxed togetherness that was easy to photograph.
We started near the Wade Lagoon and after walking around we made our way toward the Cleveland Museum of Art for photos. The Thinker statue by Rodin made its way into some photos.
The Thinker is one of 25 identical twin statues that weight 900 pounds. The bronze casts were based on a 27-inch-high clay and plaster model created by Auguste Rodin in 1880. In 1970 three sticks
of dynamite were set off under him making him unique to all of the other statues.
After some photos around the original entrance to the Cleveland Museum of Art we went over to a somewhat newer area near the Doan Brook that runs alongside the museum. There’s a very large rock
that I love photographing with couples
and families.
From there we went to the campus of Case Western Reserve University to photograph Jenna and Will near the Turning Point sculpture by Philip Johnson. He called it a modern Stonehenge and said it
signified his embrace of a new architectural vocabulary. It’s near the Peter B. Lewis Building, designed by Frank Gehry who was a friend and collaborator of Johnson’s.
I incorporated that building in the background of a few photos as well as it loomed over the sculpture in the background.
Another successful Cleveland summer engagement session was achieved as the sun starting setting!
