Amasa Stone Chapel Wedding | Rachel + Matt

Amasa Stone Chapel Wedding

Rachel and Matt’s Amasa Stone Chapel wedding was followed up with a reception at Pine Ridge Country Club.

We started at the hotel with the couple and their bridal parties.

All quotes are by Rachel and she gave me so much great information: “Being typical guys, the groomsmen waited until the last minute to decide
where they were going to get ready and they settled on the Best Men’s room. Of course, this room was right across the hall from where the
bride was getting ready. Our planner came out of the bridesmaid’s room, spotted the groom waltzing into view, and kicked all the groomsmen
out immediately to go find a different room.”

Then we were off to the Rockefeller Park Greenhouse for the first look and some portraits before the ceremony at Amasa Stone Chapel.

“As any anxious bride would, I started obsessively checking the weather once we were 10 days out, and I could see that the 10-day forecast
predicted rain for Saturday. Even though a lot can change in Cleveland in 10 days and the fact that I was in the middle of a work day, I
frantically started researching alternative photo locations for our bridal party photos, since my original plan was to take them outside
around CWRU’s campus. We had been to Rockefeller Park Greenhouse a couple times before so I reached out to them to see if we were allowed to
take pictures there. Turns out we’d need a permit filed with the city 10 days before the day of the event– which of course was that day.
Cut to me asking my boss if I could leave work early to run downtown to City Hall in order to get all the paperwork in time. I only found
out the permit was accepted the day before the wedding. So it was quite stressful! But it turned out to be a good decision, seeing as it did
rain! I only wish I had also brought umbrellas!”

After the first look we were ready to head outside for bridal party photos and it started raining heavily so we stayed inside before heading out.
The ceremony at Amasa Stone Chapel was full of laughs amongst all of the gorgeous stained glass and beautiful carved wood.

“My flower guys Ken and Brian are close college friends of mine that I thought about adding as “bridesmen” but we had such a large party already!
I really wanted to incorporate them in our big day somehow, and then saw the flower guy trend and knew that would be perfect. They are such
a goofy duo, I knew they would be happy to fill the role! And the giggles I heard from the guests as they pranced down the aisle made it worth
it! I only wish I could see them from where my dad and I were waiting to walk down the aisle!

“Since it was raining, we weren’t going to be able to do our planned bubble exit after the ceremony. Our wedding planner Jennifer had the genius idea
to have our flower guys pass out the bubbles before the ceremony and instructed everyone to blow them when we came back down the aisle at the
end of the ceremony. It was so beautiful, and I’m sure it made for great pictures! I think I liked it better than I would have liked a grand exit
so everything happened for a reason!”

We made some more photos at Pine Ridge Country Club before the ceremony and I’ll leave everyone with one last quote about that.

“We loved the idea of doing a photo dash with everyone at the wedding and Scott and our DJ Gene executed it perfectly! We’re so glad that we have
a picture with everyone who was in attendance since spending time with everyone in the hustle and bustle of the day was so difficult! We still get
people telling us how they thought it was such a great idea! In general, it was so great to see so many family and friends– some we had not seen in
a long time– come together to celebrate us and now we have a memory with each of them from our big day!”

Jeremy and Kyle worked on attaching their boutonnieres.

Rachel’s mother Rebecca helped her get dressed.

The first look at Rockefeller Park Greenhouse!

Rachel’s father Tim saw her for the first time.

Flower guys Brian and Ken went all in on their job.

The lasso ceremony is a traditional Hispanic tradition in which a lasso or rosary is wrapped around the couple in which symbolizes the bond
of two becoming one.

Orville and Sharon raised their glasses during the toasts.

Rachel: “The ribbons I was passing around are called capias. They’re Puerto Rican wedding favors pinned to guest by the bride and groom to
provide gratitude for each guests’ love and support. They were made by my mother.”

Rachel and her mother Rebecca clearly have a special bond.
