Ashley and Eric’s wedding was the first to kick off the busy wedding season.
Please enjoy, Scott Shaw Photo | Cleveland Wedding Photographer
Such a great day with so many wonderful people and places.
During the engagement session I learned that Ashley and Eric
are such a sweet couple. They complement each other so well.
Eric’s an attorney and Ashley’s a teacher. See the end of this
blog post for a link to those photos!
The day started with photos at the Aloft Hotel in Cleveland.
I love the hip vibe of the rooms and lobby.
Then the couple had a dramatic First Look in front
of the Cuyahoga County Courthouse and then we went inside
for more photos which was a good thing since it was a
bit chilly outside.
The ceremony and reception were at Windows on the
River in the City View room. A gorgeous location
that is very popular. Ashley told me they booked
the last Saturday date available in a seven month period.
Enjoy the photos and please leave a comment on the blog for the lucky couple!
Ashley’s mother, Jyl, helps with the dress.
Those gorgeous blue eyes!
The guys hung out in the lobby of the Aloft Hotel
before heading over for the portraits.
While photographing some details of Ashley’s outfit I
was surprised to look out and see the men walking
to the Cuyahoga County Courthouse for the First Look
and portraits. My many years as a photojournalist for
the Plain Dealer has honed my quick reaction skills
and I quickly made a few shots as they departed.
I love it when the couple chooses to do a First Look.
I enjoy making multiple photos that tell a mini story from their day.
The ceremony at Windows on the River in Cleveland was beautiful.
It’s in the Powerhouse building and offers wonderful
views from downtown Cleveland. The former power station
was built in 1892 and is along the Cuyahoga River.
Flower girls Hailey and Jamie and ring bears Matthew
and Oliver make their way down the aisle.
Ashley’s father, Mike, brought her to Eric.
The cocktail hour was held in the Greater Cleveland
Aquarium in the bottom floor of the Powerhouse. A great
location for the kids and the adults loved it too.
Back in the City View room Eric carried Ashley in for their entrance.
Ashley’s twin sister, Alicia, made a toast to the couple.
Best man Mike gives a toast as the Nautica Queen
travels back on the Cuyahoga River to Lake Erie behind them.
Flower girls Hailey and Jamie have some fun while waiting for dinner.
I love the steel columns as a backdrop during the couple’s first dance.
Bridesmaid Lindsey caught the bouquet.
This image captures the new couple along with their parents dancing.
James with A Bride’s DJ kept everyone dancing
all night and he even sang during dinner. Great job!
Now that school is over Ashley and Eric will be soon
leaving for a honeymoon cruise. Good luck Ashley and Eric!
Here’s their engagement photo session. Please check it out too!
