I love doing Chicago engagement photography and was excited to be with Erin and James!

What could be more fun that a weekend in Chicago doing some
Chicago engagement photography? Well the before and after
parts were fun too I must admit. Staying just off Michigan
Avenue and eating at some great restaurants and shopping are always fun.
When we met Erin and James at their home just north of downtown
it was a warm and wonderful day for walking. And walking we did!
At the end the indicator was over 20,000 steps while carrying all
of that camera equipment. I was full of energy so I didn’t even
feel it until the next day.
We walked to Lincoln Park and did some photos with the famous
tortoise shell pavilion sculpture. I wanted to get something
different than what I usually see and posted both here. What do you think?
From there we walked to the North Avenue beach for sun and fun
as the cliche goes. Then it was back to their apartment and
as the sun was setting a car ride to the Agora sculpture art I’d
seen in the past and always wanted to photograph.
Agora is an installation of 106 headless and armless iron sculptures
at the south end of Grant Park in Chicago. Designed by Polish
artist Magdalena Abakanowicz, they were made in a foundry near
Poznań between 2004 and 2006.
Another must I had never done in my other Chicago engagement photography
sessions over the years was the Chicago Theatre.
According to their site “the elegant lobby, majestic staircase and beautiful
auditorium complete with murals above the stage and on the ceiling,
are components of an amazing building called “the Wonder Theatre of the
World” when it opened on October 26, 1921.”
Last stop was the newly renovated Riverwalk on the Chicago River.
Thank you,
