Cleveland Botanical Garden Wedding | Meghan + Nick

Cleveland Botanical Garden Wedding

Meghan and Nick’s Cleveland Botanical Garden was so beautiful.

Please enjoy, Scott Shaw Photo | Cleveland Wedding Photographer

I’ve done a few ceremonies there but this was my first reception and it was even better than I expected.

We started with the ladies at the Hilton Cleveland Downtown which is always full of wonderful backdrops
including some portraits of the ladies in a few spots I’m really happy about.

There were many nice moments captured with Meghan’s delightful mother, Carol, and sister, Gracie. “I am
very close with my mom and sister. I call my mom almost everyday to talk and she has always been my go to
confidante, advisor and role model. My little sister is the best gift I ever received. When I was little I
prayed every day for a little sister and I couldn’t be happier to have her. She is the most positive,
motivated and caring person I know.”

I then met the guys at Glidden House for some photos before the ceremony at Holy Rosary Church in
Little Italy.

Nick’s father, Jonathan is English so this brought an international flair to the wedding as family
from there came over. I loved the colorful hats the ladies wore and the butterfly hat which is called a
fascinator was especially fun.

After this we went to the Cleveland Museum of Art for some portraits on a scorching hot day and it
was one of the hottest wedding days I’ve experienced. We found a few shady spots to do most of the photos.
Some I don’t ever see used much for wedding photos so it was nice to do something different.

We finished portraits at the Cleveland Botanical Garden before the cocktail hour.

Meghan on why they chose to have their reception there: “They’re beautiful and we wanted an outside
place for a summer wedding. I was a 2016 Young Botanist of America and  four years ago my school, Case Western
Reserve University had an event there at the beginning of the program and I had a strange feeling that I was
going to get married there. We loved the meandering paths of the garden where you can aimlessly wander and take
in all the beauty. Going there just feels like you are transported to a magical land.”

They finished the night with a magical late night treat! A visit from the Swensons Food Truck. “We
were trying to show the best of Cleveland and what better way than showing Lebron’s favorite burger spot!”

Meghan and her mother Carol spent a few last minutes before she put on her dress.

Sister Gracie helped with the shoes.

The couple exchanged letters on their wedding day.

A first look with father Jim led to some tears for both.

Nick’s nephew Everett and niece Libby enjoyed a wagon ride at the beginning of the ceremony.

What a perfect setting for a cocktail hour.

Nick’s cousin Kate from England wore her butterfly hat.

Nick’s niece Addie is a big fan of Thomas the Tank Engine and amused herself during the cocktail hour.

Nick’s stepmother, Jayne and father Jonathan enjoyed the gardens.
