Rachel and Alex plus their Cleveland bridal portraits session equal a great time!
Please enjoy, Scott Shaw Photo | Cleveland Wedding Photographer
Usually the wedding day portrait time is rushed and a bit hectic with how much time we have
and sometimes a wild and fun bridal party and all that goes with it.
Rachel and Alex had their ceremony transition straight into their cocktail hour at St. Clair
Ballroom so there was not too much time for portraits with the bridal party. They didn’t want to do a
first look before the ceremony which most people end up doing in that situation. Before the wedding, we
had decided to have an after-wedding session so there would be more time for their photos later. This
allowed us to primarily photograph them with the bridal party during cocktail hour.
After their wedding they moved to Pennsylvania so there was a bit of delay to do the portrait
session. No big deal! This was fine as there’s no official rule photos need to be done the day after
the wedding.
I wanted to use locations I typically don’t use on a wedding day. We met at some historic
Cleveland townhouses I’ve always wanted to use as a background. From there we drove a few blocks
to a few other new backdrops. Then we made a quick stop for a skyline photo before the sunset. I’ve
always wanted to go there but usually we are nowhere near sunset before the reception.
We then made it to the other side of Cleveland for some photos just after the sun was down.
I was able to set up some lighting as they poured champagne for some photos. They brought another
bottle so I captured Alex opening a bottle with the Cleveland skyline in the background.
I’m looking forward to doing another Cleveland bridal portrait sessions in the future.
