Hannah and Anthony’s Erie PA wedding was my first in the city!
Please enjoy, Scott Shaw Photo | Cleveland Wedding Photographer
I met them while on the way back from a short vacation and we stayed a few nights there. I found
enough location backdrops that I need to get back there for another wedding in the future. We also found a
brewery we loved with one of our favorite beers of all-time. For those of you that like IPAs check out Lavery
Brewing for their “Cardinal of Wood Island” if you’re looking for a road trip. They also have excellent food.
We also found some cool antique stores and a beautiful historic district.
So back to the wedding!
Hannah: “We chose Holy Trinity for our church because of the history and its relation to us both.
My family is very Polish and this little church has been in Erie since 1902. It was built by Polish immigrants
and has such a rich history.
We volunteer here all year to host the region’s largest Polish festival and almost other yearly activities and markets. Anthony
also came into the faith a little over a year before we got married and was confirmed at the same church!”
After the ceremony in this beautiful church we had a bit of time for some Erie portraits. They have
a cool old bridge I had to use and everyone that frequents this blog knows I love old bridges. From there we
had a few minutes to get some lake photos.
“Lake Erie is such a staple for the people that live here, and we find ourselves there all the time.
From fishing and boating to riding bikes along the peninsula and watching sunsets, this is always an option when
looking for things to do no matter the season. It was a no-brainer that we wanted to be able to incorporate such
a beautiful landscape into our wedding photos.”
Both times I’ve been to Erie they had the most amazing clouds over the water. I feel like this happens
every day or maybe I was just lucky.
“Besides some minor bumps in the road like the limo going to the wrong location after the ceremony and
the bridal boutique not putting my veil in with my dress and having to run it over 5 minutes before I walked out
it was an amazing day!
“The venue for our reception was mainly chosen because we loved the feel of the place. We knew we wanted
some of the old time music with Frank Sinatra and the crooners so we felt the theme of the speakeasy would fit
perfectly. It’s a rather small venue and small gathering but it was more than enough for us.”
“The cigar room is something that Anthony and the guys were most excited for. There aren’t many places
left that allow for that type of thing so they were able to get in there, celebrate and drink some Woodford
Reserve together to celebrate.”
Hannah’s father Len walked her down the aisle.
