Hungarian Cultural Garden Wedding

Hannah and Juan wanted an intimate affair at the Hungarian Cultural Gardens wedding and they also wanted lots of fun portraits.

They came over to my home studio for a consult and I shared some past albums and we discussed what they were looking for. They trusted me to come up with locations and ideas after their first look at the Cleveland Public Library. We then did a few photos on the way to the car in the parking garage. Some of you know that parking garage photos are all the rage these days!

Then we drove around Cleveland just outside of the downtown area finding fun little spots along the way. Some I’ve had in mind for awhile and others were discovered as we went along.

We finally arrived for their Hungarian Cultural Gardens wedding but first they read their vows to each other before their guests arrived.

I love the way they get along so well and it was so nice to spend time with them. After their vows and a few more portraits it was time for the ceremony at their Hungarian Cultural Gardens wedding.

The officiant Christina arrived and the Hannah’s family brought chairs and water as it was very hot and much needed. After their beautiful ceremony we made some family photos and the next day I was there for their friend and family filled reception at the Elmwood Cabin in Rocky River.

Here’s their thoughts on the day: “The most emotional moment for us was exchanging our vows privately in the Hungarian Cultural Gardens. The day had so much going on: getting ready, taking pictures, spending time with our families, and moving from one thing to the next. So having that moment where it was just us felt really special, especially surrounded by all of the green in the gardens with the sun shining through the leaves, away from all people – it felt beautiful to be in nature. As though we were afforded an extra privacy from the rest of the world – an intimacy. It gave us a chance to slow down, take everything in, and focus on each other. Sharing the vows we had written for one another in private was probably our favorite moment of the entire day.

“What surprised us the most about the day was how calm and relaxed we both felt. There was a lot happening around us and so many little things that could have been stressful, but none of it really mattered once we were there. We were just happy to be with each other and finally experience the day we had been looking forward to together. We expected to feel more nervous or overwhelmed, but instead we mostly felt present and excited!

“Having such an intimate wedding felt the most like us. We wanted to really enjoy celebrating our love with the people who have been such a close part of our lives and our relationship; the family and loved ones who have supported us from the beginning. Having everyone together in such a small, personal setting made the day feel meaningful rather than overwhelming; we felt more present. It felt less like putting on or coordinating a big event and more like celebrating our marriage surrounded by the people we love most.”
