Jennifer and Bobby’s Shoreby Club wedding in Bratenahl was a perfect day.
Please enjoy, Scott Shaw Photo | Cleveland Wedding Photographer
The entire day was spent at the Shoreby Club which made it
very relaxed and was a bonus for me since I was nursing two sprained toes.
Jennifer got ready with her mother Ann and matron of honor
Erica. They enjoyed some food and champagne before they got
dressed for the day.
Their room was a perfect vantage point to observe the ceremony
as it was assembled by Lowe’s Greenhouse in Chagrin Falls
and later when guests started arriving for the Shoreby Club wedding.
Jennifer’s dress was from Brides by the Falls in Chagrin Falls.
This was the first time I’d seen a Livestrong garter.
Here’s the story from Jennifer:
“My mother made my garter for me, allowing me to make
sure that I kept a Livestrong bracelet close to me at all times.
I have worn a Livestrong bracelet since 2004 (occasionally having
to replace a worn bracelet with a fresh one) – this was the year
that my father was diagnosed with cancer. As the wedding day approached,
I knew I wanted to keep my Livestrong with me – but I was not sure that
it would match the aesthetics of my evening. This garter was the
perfect solution!”
Her father, Bruce, arrived for a first look with his daughter.
Bobby and his best man, Ralph, talked before the ceremony.
The cake was made by Wild Flour Bakery in Rocky River. Love their cakes!
When the guests left for the night they received Cake Kisses
by Christina Hoehn. You can see one of their engagement photos
too. A link for those will be at the end of this blog post.
The couple kissed after officiant Charles Flickinger gave them approval.
The grounds of the Shoreby Club have some nice backdrops for photos.
For those who don’t know, the Shoreby Club was constructed in 1890 as
the summer home of Samuel Mather, a senior partner of his own company
and a founding director of U.S. Steel. As a Cleveland wedding photographer
I always enjoy spending the day here.
The popcorn is from Crazy But True Popcorn of Hudson.
Bobby danced with his mother, Paula.
Caricature artist Ron Hill was a big hit at the reception and was busy all night.
This photo of the packed dance floor is one of my favorite
photos I’ve taken as a Cleveland wedding photographer. Magical Sound
Entertainment kept the dance floor busy all night.
As the sun set at the Shoreby Club we walked toward the Lake Erie
water. A boat owner offered to let the couple take some photos on his
Chris Craft boat. I’ve always loved these wooden boats. We didn’t have
time to get his name and I hope he somehow sees these photos.
At the end of the night Jennifer changed dresses so they
would be ready to continue their party in downtown Cleveland.
The Shoreby Club is a wonderful and historic venue for a Cleveland
wedding photographer and it was an honor to spend the day with
Jennifer and Bobby. Thanks to Ryan for assisting me on this day.
