It was a rainy day and that didn’t matter. It was still went perfectly for Lauren and Tim!
Please enjoy, Scott Shaw Photo | Cleveland Wedding Photographer
We started with Lauren as she prepared at her home near
the ceremony at Immaculate Conception Church.
Luckily the couple had a backup plan for some indoor photos
at the Morehouse-a new restaurant/bar in downtown
Willoughby. I’ve always wanted to use the downtown
for wedding photos and I finally got my chance. In the rain.
Then we found another dry spot before heading to the
reception at the Pine Ridge Country Club of the Lake Metroparks which is gorgeous
and one of the nicest venues for Cleveland wedding photography.
A few funny (and scary) things from the day as told by Lauren:
“I lost my engagement ring that morning before everyone came
over to start getting ready – I obviously found it,
but that really got my heart racing in the morning!”
“Tim said that while the girls were spending hours getting
ready in the morning, they rolled out of bed, went
to Bob Evans, went back to the hotel, chilled in the
pool, then started getting ready around
noon…must have been nice!”
Lauren’s cat Oliver is not sure about the visitor photographing the bride in the dress.
Sister Kristen helped with the shoes.
Best man Bill talked with Tim before the ceremony.
I love this image. Lauren is looking at Tim as her
father Mark looks at his wife Gloria who is also looking at
Tim. It’s also nice that everyone doesn’t have a phone in
front of their face taking photos as is often seen at weddings these days.
Deacon Paul led the ceremony at Immaculate Conception Church in Willoughby.
The party bus was a good time!
The guys have a drink at the Morehouse in downtown Willoughby
while the girls spend time with each other.
Then everyone was back together for a drink!
Pallet walls are all the rage these days but
this is the first I’ve seen with color.
We walked around the downtown for a few minutes while the
wedding party stayed dry at the Morehouse.
When a flower came off the bouquet the girls decided to have fun with it.
Lauren and Tim aren’t fans of the jumping photo which so
many weddings parties seem to do. They feel it’s cliche and old
and I must agree it’s about ten years past its prime.
Lauren’s sister Kristen loves the jumping bridal party photo so
they decided to do a photo with everyone standing while she jumped.
But they didn’t tell her this so she was the only one jumping.
It made for a funny moment and was a nice twist on the standard.
At first she wasn’t sure if she should laugh or cry but with her
great sense of humor she realized how funny it was.
The beautiful flowers were from Paradise Flower Market.
The cocktail hour and reception at the Pine Ridge Country Club of the Lake Metroparks were so perfect.
I loved seeing the reception album I designed from our engagement
session. As a Cleveland wedding photographer I find the engagement
sessions are great for getting to know my couples. Please click on
the link at the end of the blog to see those photos.
The memorial of family members that could not be present
for the wedding day was a great touch.
Cakes to You made the beautiful wedding cake.
Lauren’s father Mark led a toast.
Cake cutting time! Lauren fed Tim a bigger slice than he realized
and he did his best to keep it in his mouth.
The rains from the day finally lifted as the sun was setting.
Tim’s mother Pam danced with him.
The dessert room was a huge hit with the guests! So many great choices.
Tim and his friends hit the dance floor. Literally!
Manny from Cipriano Productions was the DJ.
Good luck to Lauren and Tim!
