Lauren and Trace love to dance and the House of Blues in Cleveland is the perfect place for that.
Please enjoy, Scott Shaw Photo | Cleveland Wedding Photographer
When this school teacher couple came up from their Florida home
this winter we had fun shooting their engagement photos at
Wild Flour Bakery in Rocky River. Lauren’s Aunt, Sue,
is the owner of the well known bakery that provides
wedding cakes for many of the areas weddings. It was a
super cold day so after a few photos outside we headed
into the warmth.
It was great but I had no idea how much fun this couple
would be on their wedding day. I loved seeing their
smiles all day long. It’s obvious how much in love
they are and you’ll agree when you look at these photos.
Or maybe you’ve just skipped right to the photos and
you aren’t even reading this. If you did, please leave
a comment. If I get a few people writing I will be
amazed and you’ll make my day!
We started at Sue’s home where Lauren and the ladies were getting ready.
Her decorating is very eclectic and I loved the lamps and mirrors!
Lauren’s mother Helen helped her with her dress.
Lauren received earrings from Trace as a wedding day gift.
Her father, Larry, gets his first look of her in her dress.
Then her Aunt Sue came to see her.
Trace and his best man Tanner were ready to roll after
Trace read a card from Lauren which truly touched him.
He opened a few gifts from her including these cufflinks.
St. James Catholic Church in Lakewood was the setting for
the wedding. I loved the entrance Lauren made into
the church. What a gorgeous place.
Trace was all smiles when he saw Lauren walking down the
aisle and continued smiling during the service with
Father Workman leading the ceremony.
I told you this place was gorgeous!
The patina of the church doors shows so much history.
The bouquet was made of brooches by Nicole Sacicero.
I love this backdrop of Cleveland. As a wedding photographer
the creative portraits are one of my favorite parts of the day.
The bridal party headed a back way into the Foundation Room
to enjoy a private cocktail hour.
This display of bridal photos of the family members highlights
the importance of wedding photography in
documenting the history of a family.
Trace’s mother Karen wipes a tear before they pick up the speed on their dancing.
Since Sue is one of the premier wedding cake makers with her
Wild Flour Bakery in Rocky River she had a different
cake at every table. Guests could go around and sample
of all of the different flavors during the night.
What a great idea!
Here Sue watches as Lauren and Trace cut their wedding cake.
Then a dance was held to see who had been married the longest.
The winners were Jim and Edna and the DJ with Rock the House
asked them how they kept their passion alive in their
relationship. They said good Scotch helped and
then kissed for quite awhile.
The lighting at the House of Blues creates a fun variety of patterns
and is a challenge to photograph with and
done right yields great results.
Trace is very close with his grandmother Jean.
One last photo of the couple on E. 4th Street in Cleveland
which is very popular these days.
