Kayla and Kevin had a sweet Springvale Ballroom wedding.

This was my first time at Springvale Ballroom and it has a retro vibe for a reason. The
ballroom is one of the last and oldest ballrooms in Ohio. It started in 1923 and was opened for five
years. It reopened in 1936 during the ballroom dance craze. The Springvale golf course is also on
the property and owned by the city of North Olmsted. We were able to do some portraits on the course
near the clubhouse.
Kayla: “I told Kevin our whole relationship if he did not cry when I walked down the
aisle to him that I was going to turn back around and do it again and he did not disappoint. He cried
more than I did and I’ll never forget how happy he was to have all of his family who came from hundreds
of miles away for our big day all in the same room at once.”
Kevin was also emotional when his mother Suzette and grandmother Sonia gave a toast.
It was easy to see how important his family is to him.
Kayla: “My dad was so nervous before the ceremony. He hates being in the spotlight
and when we were all waiting in the back before going down the aisle it was more so me calming his
nerves than he was mine. After finally convincing him it was me everyone was going to look at and not
him he felt better about it. I have only seen my dad cry maybe twice in my life and he definitely
teared up that night.
“My grandmother got people onto the dance floor when the music started. We were outside
getting pictures done when they opened up the dancing and everyone was kind of shy and did not want
to get up to dance first. So my grandmother, Gloria, one leg, in her wheelchair, rolled herself out on the
dance floor and started dancing and one by one everyone else started getting up to dance. Shaun, the
DJ told her she made his entire night for that.
“Everything about the whole night was perfect- the only thing I would change was to
make it longer because it all went by in the blink of an eye and I would relive it over and over
if I could!”
Maid of honor and sister of the bride Catie had a good time for sure.
Kayla and her father Richard.
Catie had a much longer speech she wrote out but she said about half of it and forgot the rest
then they did a tequila shot. “She rocked the role of maid of honor and I have never been more proud
to call her my sister. She was there with me through it all and helped settle my nerves by being her
silly goofy self.”
Kayla’s mother Tina was very touched by her dance with her father.
Kevin danced with his mother Suzette.
Sister Catie did not come up with the bouquet but her cousin Megan did.
