Sydney and Kurt’s Union Club wedding was a classic day at a classic venue.
Please enjoy, Scott Shaw Photo | Cleveland Wedding Photographer
The entire day after getting ready time was at the Union Club which works well for this location.
It’s often nice to visit some different locations during the course of the day but there’s so much here
it’s not really needed. We did some photos just outside the club with the couple and the wedding party
stayed inside the air conditioning on this warm day.
We did start at Sydney’s family home where all the ladies readied themselves for the day. Her
parents had a very nice home and I enjoyed seeing her father’s interesting collection of items in his office.
The kitchen and family room were busy with activity and Sydney’s grandma Josie took it all in from
there. She’s 91 and wasn’t able to attend the wedding and was a sweet presence during the preparation.
You’ll see a photo of her being wowed by Sydney’s ring below. She’s the mother of five girls (Sydney’s
mom and four sisters) and one Uncle, 17 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
We met the guys all ready for photos at the Union Club before the couple had their first look
on the gorgeous stairs.
Guests started arriving for the ceremony and Sydney and Kurt stayed hidden in a few of the
rooms while we took more photos. Sydney was worried she might be seen but I assured her no one would
notice. “In typical Sydney fashion – finding something to worry about at every occasion,” she said.
I loved her wedding gown and she achieved her goal: “I was looking for a timeless look.”
After the beautiful ceremony it was family portraits on the steps during cocktail hour and
finally the reception upstairs with the band RadioActive.
Sydney’s mom JoAnne helped with the dress.
Grandma Josie admired Sydney’s ring.
Nancy and Berkant of the Union Club gave Sydney a beautiful bracelet from Tiffany’s.
The first look!
A note from Sydney’s niece emphasized the dress code.
Avoiding being seen Sydney rushed into the library as Reid the ring bearer held the door.
Junior bridesmaids, Anna, Olivia and Reese wait with Reid for the wedding to begin.
Sydney’s father Jim walked her down the aisle.
Sydney’s Uncle Dean officiated the ceremony.
Demetrius Steinmetz played during the cocktail hour.
Sydney’s Aunt Angela and others enjoyed talking.
The band RadioActive kept everyone dancing all night.
