Windows On The River Wedding | Kelsey + Michael

Windows on the River

Kelsey and Michael’s Windows on the River wedding could not have been more perfect!

What a day! A good looking couple with good looking venues always makes it easy to do my job that I love so much.
Our engagement session at the Cuyahoga County courthouse in downtown Cleveland went very well so I knew the couple
and had ideas for the portraits.

We started with Kelsey and her bridesmaids getting ready at the Tudor Arms Hotel. This has to be the best place for
those photos with the gorgeous windows and space available.

Then we were off to see Michael at St. Ann Church in Cleveland Heights for the ceremony. I’d never photographed
here before and it’s now in my top 10 most beautiful ceremonies I’ve experienced. It’s probably top five if
I had to narrow it down.

Kelsey wanted to visit the Cleveland Cultural Gardens so we went to the Italian and Greek gardens.

There was still a bit of time left so we headed toward downtown for some photos before we needed to be at Windows
on the River.

Here’s Kelsey’s telling of how they chose a Windows on the River wedding: “Michael really liked a venue
in Akron where he’s from and I really wanted to get married at St Ann’s in Cleveland Heights. I went to
church there while I was going to dental school and I lived around the corner. We didn’t want our guests
to have to drive the distance between the two so we decided the most fair way to make the decision was to
leave it to fate and flip a coin. Michael tossed the coin, it hit the ceiling, and landed on heads-Akron won.
He called an interference as he knew Akron wasn’t my first choice and he didn’t want me to be disappointed.
He flipped again- tails, Cleveland. So he decided best out of 3 would only make sense. Final flip- tails and
Cleveland won. Ultimately we wanted a venue that was unique to Cleveland and had some history and someplace
with a lot of natural light and I’ve always loved the brick look.”

Both fathers gave toasts and they did not hold back on the details! Clearly they are very close with the
bride and groom and it was so nice to see the families and their bonds.

Kelsey’s family mostly lives in California with some other states represented. A very large number of her
family and friends made the trip with others coming from Texas, Washington and South Carolina.

Michael had a surprise before retrieving Kelsey’s garter. “Michael is always singing! Whenever we cook
together or I’ve had a long day, he’ll play Sinatra and sing to me while we dance. He loves to entertain
and he knows how much I love it when he sings, so he thought it’d be special if he sang to me that night.”

If you’re still reading this don’t wait any longer and look at some of my favorite images of the day!

Lindsay and Jeneen of Lindsay London finished Kelsey’s makeup and hair.

Flower girls Evie and Sasha looked at Kelsey’s bridal dress.

Kelsey’s mother Carried helped with the dress.

Van and Dana helped with Kelsey’s dress.

Kelsey’s dad Doug walked her down the aisle.

Love that they displayed this photo from the engagement photos we did.

Their dogs Bella, Piper and Buck watched over the bar.

Always a wonderful thing to see the family wedding photos from the past.

The couple laughed as Maid of honor Dana gave a toast.

Kelsey’s dad Doug gave a toast as Michael’s parents Michael and Lynn reacted.

Michael’s dad gave him a big hug after his toast.

Michael danced with his mother Lynn.

Kelsey’s grandparents Alfred and Josephine, both 86, won the anniversary dance for being married 64 years.

Maid of honor Dana caught the bouquet.

As the couple kissed Aly and Siena did a spin.

Doug danced with Susan, the best friend of her mother Carrie, since their college days.
