Collision Bend Brewery Wedding | Raven + Chris

Collision Bend Brewery Wedding

Raven and Chris had a funny, sunny, sudsy Collision Bend Brewery wedding!

I was excited to hear Raven and Chris were having a Collision Bend wedding reception. I’ve enjoyed
their beers and food but not been there for a wedding. If you’re looking at venues for under 100 or so this is
a great spot. Having everything on the water as the sun sets is a magical thing! Plus the indoor room with a
bar was great too.

Raven: “We chose Collision Bend because it fits us perfectly. We didn’t want the tradition with
everyone in one big room where it’s really just a hall. It’s not who we are as individuals and especially as a
couple. We visit breweries for fun and are extremely laid-back people. A brewery by the lake on a beautiful
Saturday night fit the bill perfectly.”

Another first for the couple and me was the ceremony at Church in the Circle. This is one of the
most stunning churches I’ve been to in Cleveland. I’ve seen it near Wade Lagoon over the years but never been
inside. It’s also known as University Circle United Methodist Church. The building was completed in 1928 and
the towering steeple was modeled after Mont Saint Michel in France. It was given the nickname of “Holy Oil Can”
by students on the Western Reserve campus.

Raven: “I wanted something that felt like I was in the Princess Bride movie and when I walked
into that church it was just so beautiful it was an immediate yes.” The stained glass and stone’s magnificence
had me awestruck.

Raven was surprised to find her Uncle Lee in the back of the church as she and Chris were
walking out. You’ll see a photo of her reaction below. “He flew in the night before from New York City and
flew out the morning after. Not a single person knew he was coming and it was a truly amazing heartfelt moment.
Neither I nor my father Jose had seen him in four years.”

After the ceremony we created photos at Wade Lagoon which was very convenient to just walk
across the street on a very warm day.

“We were moved by our best man Mike and matron of honor Lucy’s speeches – they really hit
the nail on the head. Chris is best man to his best man next year and is already trying to figure out how to top the speech.”

The river was full of boats passing by both large and small and a few docked at Collision
Bend for food and drinks.

“The day and night went by so fast it was hard to hold on to all of the moments.” Luckily I
have plenty of images for the couple and here’s a few for anyone still reading to view now.

Lucy and Marissa helped Raven with her dress.

Mike helped Chris with his suit.

Raven showed her parents Annette and Jose her dress before exchanging letters with Chris.

Raven’s face is surprised to see her Uncle Lee.

Most of the groomsmen served in the Marines with Chris.

Hayden Grove sang during the cocktail hour.

During Raven’s dance with her father Jose the Brewboat did a bit of a photobomb as they passed by.

Chris danced with his mother Jennie.

Best man Mike gave a toast.

Raven surprised Chris with a mariachi band!

Jose, grandmother Maria and Uncle Lee danced it up.

Bridesmaid Jolee sported her heart glasses all night long.

Everyone got together for a group shot before the sun set.
