Ibel and Miguel’s small wedding was perfect in the Tudor Arms Ballroom wedding!
Please enjoy, Scott Shaw Photo | Cleveland Wedding Photographer
I was excited for their wedding after photographing their engagement session. They were naturals
in front of the camera so I knew on the wedding day would create some great images.
There were some emotional images all day and it was so wonderful to witness and document.
We started with getting ready photos at Tudor Arms before heading to St. Christopher in Rocky River.
We went straight to the Cleveland Museum of Art for creative portrait time.
Miguel: “We got engaged just before the pandemic started while living in our home country of El Salvador.
I (Miguel) had to leave two months later to the U.S., where I would start working as a medical resident training
to be a pediatrician. Ibel followed some months after at the beginning of Cleveland’s winter. From sunny and warm
to cloudy and cold! In the US we had to cancel our wedding preparations twice in the scope of two years given the
changing dynamics of the COVID pandemic, travel restrictions and my job requirements.
“We then chose St. Christopher’s the very first moment we entered that church. We felt at peace and
welcomed, and seemed like a perfect place to officiate our getting together. We later chose Tudor Arms given
its antique and classy style, as well as its central location in Cleveland. We had no wedding planner and we
decided to do things our way. Discovering all the ins and outs of planning a wedding in the U.S. was fun and
sometimes stressful!”
Many of the guests came for the wedding from El Salvador.
Ibel: “Our families were able to come for the wedding, visiting Cleveland for the first time. I had
to drive so many times to the airport to pick up someone over the last days before the wedding! I think
having a “destination wedding” made this so much more special. We celebrated our marriage with our closest
and dearest. And in a way it lasted for days and days as we continued to celebrate every day after while
exploring Cleveland and its surrounding areas.”
Best man Marcus snapped Miguel’s outfit into shape.
The first look with Ibel’s father Mario was very emotional as was their first dance.
Ibel with her mother Ibel and grandmother Amparo.
Ibel’s father Mario and mother Ibel walked her down the aisle.
The couple waited until everyone left the ceremony before they exited.
