B House Is Elegant Place For A Wedding

The wedding day of Emily and Markus at the B House was filled touching family moments and great details.

Please enjoy, Scott Shaw Photo | Cleveland Wedding Photographer

The day went by so quickly and it was such a wonderful affair.
The mansion setting is tucked behind a certain large hospital’s
Lyndhurst campus near the Legacy Village shopping center.
It was originally the home of Chester Castle and Frances
Payne B and built in 1917.

The TRW company bought the 68 acres where it sits in
1985 and built their headquarters on the property and it’s
now part of a large hospital. (two years later I have been
contacted that they don’t want the location mentioned which
is why I am calling it the B House) I photographed some
executives meeting there many years earlier and was
excited to be back again.

Loved this photo showing the makeup in the context of the
ceremony scene on the grounds below.

Markus and the men get some fresh air on the porch before the ceremony.

The couple had too many they wanted to officially include
in their bridal party and decided not to have anyone
stand up front for that. Their parents and siblings
took those spots during the ceremony which I
thought was a wonderful idea.

When the father of the bride first saw his daughter
it was very touching. Bill’s love for his daughter
was so sweet. His fun sense of humor was great all day too!

EM_Bolton_House_Wedding_17

The couple wanted to do a first look and see
each other before the ceremony. This helps when
everything is close together so we can get creative
portraits beforehand. It’s also an extra chapter in
the day that always makes for dramatic photos. As a
wedding photographer I always leave it up to the
couple as to what works best for them.

When I saw the garden I knew we had to make that the spot
for them to first see each other on their wedding day.

We had a few minutes to take some photos with sculptures
on the property before the ceremony began.

The nephews of Markus, Juhani and Eelis, were especially stylish.

After the ceremony was over the couple made their way to a
spot for some personal time together
(note the first photo in this blog post).

Meanwhile the guests were enjoying the cocktail hour in the
B House. The event was catered by Spice of Life
and everything was tied together wonderfully by
A Charming Fete. Their attention to the details
throughout the event was so important and working
with Shannon made everything so easy.

Markus is originally from Finland and the couple decided
to have a Finnish style cake. It included cloudberry jam
and other berry jams and preserves. Kim from
Hummingbird Bakery did an amazing job and it’s
always a pleasure to see (and taste) her work
at weddings. Great cake is one of the perks
of a being a wedding photographer!

Emily and Markus chose the Wedding Waltz of Akselin and Elinan for their first dance.

A spirited dance with father Bill lifted Emily’s
already soaring spirits! (please excuse that
pun but I think Bill will enjoy it)

So many more vendors helped make this a success. The tables
and chairs from Borrow Rentals, the handsome tent
from Everything Tented, flowers from Molly Taylor,
Let’s Entertain for linens and other items,
Event Source for lounge furniture and Rock the House
for lighting and sound. Plus Markus brought his
friend, Joni over from Finland to be the DJ.

During Bill’s speech he joked that his notes were on this
long piece of paper. As Markus said,
“That type of gag is really up his alley”.

Just have to mention the lighting on the grounds again.
Ryan Konikoff of Rock the House went beyond what
was asked of him to make the areas look great
and I really appreciated that.
