Northeast Ohio Engagement Session
When we did the couple’s northeast Ohio engagement session it was a bit cold. Luckily this cute couple used their body heat together plus a few jackets
between photos to help them stay warm.
We started at one of my favorite Ohio City alleys for some photos. I love the old painted brick textures and graffiti that’s always changing. I hadn’t
been in this location for at least five years and last time was the spring. Things looked different with the foliage since it was getting close to winter.
Someone left one of those electric scooters so we tried a few photos with that. I’m often not a fan of how they can clutter a scene but it worked okay
in this situation.
The orange leaves were still hanging on for a nice colorscape and then we went to a Gordon Square area that I knew was recently painted by artist Garrett
Weider. I’m a fan of his urban paintscapes and always excited to find out about a new one. I did photos there about 12 years ago and was happy the tired paint
had been renewed with a new design. That area has changed so much with all of the new housing in the last decade.
From there we got to Edgewater Park just as the heavy clouds were rolling in squashing any hopes of a colorful sunset. The blue color was better anyway
so it worked out just fine!
For the last photo I had the couple sit on the rocks while we waited for a big wave to hit the shore. Just as they were about to sit it hit! Okay fine
we missed it but there should be another in a few seconds or so.
I think we sat there waiting for at least five minutes and got a few good ones but nothing like the crazy one we saw at first. I decided we were done
so they could get their coats back on.
My couple wanted to do their northeast Ohio engagement session photos on the west side of Cleveland and I said let’s go with Ohio City,
Gordon Square areas and Edgewater Park and it worked great!
