Sarah and Nick had a classy Café Brauer Chicago wedding.

I always love photographing my couples in Chicago. I grew up in Illinois and lived there through college so I have lots of fond memories of visiting
over the years.
The ceremony was set to be outside at the Honeycomb aka the Education Pavilion at the Lincoln Park Zoo however cold and wind moved
it indoors to Café Brauer. The historic Chicago landmark was completed in 1908. It features beautiful ceilings supported by green-colored
beams and Tiffany style chandeliers.
We did engagement photos in Cleveland so I had already spent a few hours with Sarah and Nick and found them to be very sweet and
kind people. Her parents Rosalie and Steven came to the engagement session with the couple’s dog, Luna.
Nick is from Chicago and their beginning as a couple was there so they decided it was the best place for the wedding.
Sarah: “Nick and I met after I transferred to The College of Wooster for our sophomore year. I met him at a party prior to summer
break. The summer going into our junior year was when we went on our first date in Chicago. I told my parents I was visiting my best
friend Morgan and Nick told his parents he was spending the day with his cousin who have apartments in downtown Chicago.
“We decided to get married in Chicago since our first date took place in Chicago. We started at the Shedd Aquarium, went to Chinatown,
and ended the night at Navy Pier.”
They chose Café Brauer as Nick’s parents, Karen and Tim, were married there in 1992.
I was not the only person traveling from Cleveland for their wedding.
Sarah: “The Cantor Sarah Sager was also the person to conduct my baby naming and bat mitzvah. She has helped us celebrate each milestone
since I was a baby.”
Nick’s mother had her makeup done.
Sarah’s mother Rosalie and sister Elizabeth helped with her dress.
The first look was on top of a 23 story building on the north edge of downtown Chicago. The wind and fog gave it a different vibe!
Cantor Sarah Sager led the Ketubah signing before the ceremony.
Nick’s parents Tim and Karen walked him down the aisle and she wiped her lipstick off his cheek.
Friends of the couple, Roxanne and Reid, caught my eye during the cocktail hour.
Best man Nate kept everyone laughing during his toast.
Sarah’s sister Elizabeth also gave a toast.
Nick’s grandfather Nicholas enjoyed the Hora.
Nick’s parents at the location of their marriage almost 31 years earlier.
