Brittany and Shaun wanted some Cleveland Guardians Engagement photos on the bridge and more!
Please enjoy, Scott Shaw Photo | Cleveland Wedding Photographer
They wanted to start at the Hope Memorial Bridge aka Lorain-Carnegie bridge aka the Guardians
bridge. With the Cleveland Indians changing their name to the Cleveland Guardians there’s much more
awareness of this impressive structure. I’ve always been a big fan of it and the Guardians of Traffic
that adorn it.
The art deco bridge was finished in 1932. Each Guardian holds a different vehicle in its hands:
a covered wagon, a hay wagon, a stagecoach, and a 1930s-era automobile, plus four types of motorized
trucks used for construction.
Brittany and Shaun are very organized and also had great ideas for the engagement session. It’s
always fun to try some new locations.
After the bridge we went to another bridge in the Rocky River Reservation of the Cleveland
Metroparks. After some photos there we zipped over to Lakewood Park for some photos on the Solstice
Steps and a few other places there. The parking lot LITERALLY had two spots left for cars and we were
lucky to find them!
We continued after the sun set as the park rapidly cleared out. The photo with the skyline was
still packed with teenagers and looking at the photo it’s hard to believe there were 25 within a few feet of us.
I can’t wait for the wedding at the classic Cuyahoga County Courthouse!
