Cleveland Museum of Art Wedding | Sara + Ryan

Cleveland Museum of Art Wedding

Sara and Ryan’s Cleveland Museum of Art wedding was a classy affair I won’t soon forget.

What a wonderful day with this couple and their wedding party. Everyone was so great to be around and
this included their families. Their wedding was delayed from 2020 and we all know why. It was worth waiting
for 1000 percent!

Getting ready photos started at the Cleveland Hilton Downtown and the guys were in the Rock and Roll room
which I had not seen before. What a cool space. We did a first look outside the hotel: Sara: “We were both
nervous but really excited. Especially after having to wait an additional year, there was a lot of anticipation.
It was really special to be surrounded by friends and family for that moment.”

Then we were off to the flats of Cleveland for portraits including my favorite red bridge. After this
we made some photos inside the Cleveland Museum of Art rotunda and surrounding areas before the ceremony
overlooking the fountain.

While the couple is no longer in Cleveland they came back for the day. “Ryan and I met in Cleveland over
eight years ago and spent many years there. Although we’ve lived in several cities since then, coming back
to Cleveland brought back so many memories of our early relationship and added a wonderful depth to an
already very meaningful weekend.”

Sara continued: “We chose the Cleveland Museum of Art because we both have been to the CMA many times
together including their Mix events. We always thought it would be a beautiful location for a wedding and was
our dream venue when we lived in Cleveland, so when we got engaged we knew it had to be there!”

Their ceremony was very touching. Ryan’s father, John, spoke during the ceremony about his late wife,
Dawn. “We wanted to keep her memory alive and make sure she was included in our wedding and we felt her presence.
Ryan’s dad TOTALLY surprised me with the tempo change and spinning in the song he picked out for our dance! I
didn’t expect it at all but it was really fun and I think we pulled it off. We were happy to be able to honor
Ryan’s late mother with the saved seat and memory table too.”

Their reception was very colorful and had a beautiful cake tableau. “I love really bright colors and
cocktails – I’ve always loved the bowl of citrus that often sits on a bar countertop. When browsing for wedding
decor ideas, I found a citrus table and thought it was so different and colorful and would be perfect for a late
summer wedding.” Indeed it was!

“Kirkbrides Wedding Planning was amazing! They made sure everyone was where they needed to be at the
right time and that everything was smoothly executed. We definitely wouldn’t have had nearly as polished of a
day without them!”

Please enjoy these photos-yet another favorite wedding of mine! I’ve been on quite a streak.

Sara’s mother Mary helped with her dress.

Rin helped with her dress too.

Ryan hugged his father John before Sara came out for the ceremony.

Sara and her father Joe walked down the aisle.

Ryan’s father John reflected after his talk as Ryan’s Aunt Mary patted his back.

Sister Rin gave a beautiful toast.

Michael’s speech produced a mix of emotions.

David, Mclain and Michael were all in on the dance floor.

Raise the Roof Entertainment created some gorgeous lighting all night long.

Madhu, Kelsey, Sara and Taylor enjoyed the photo booth.
