Liz and Phil’s Clifton Club wedding was a family affair with a few close friends. This is the perfect venue for an intimate wedding.

A Clifton Club wedding is always a wonderful idea. I love this house located on the west side of Lakewood.
This was my second time there for a wedding there and last time was even smaller and the ceremony was in the living room. This time the ceremony was outside on the beautiful grounds of the venue.
I’ve known Liz for around fourteen years and I am so happy about her happily ever after. Fun fact: when I was a photographer at the Plain Dealer another photojournalist I knew suggested I look into wedding photography. I wasn’t so sure at the time, but later decided to check it out. I messaged Liz out of the blue as I did not know her. She agreed to let me photograph a few weddings with her and here I am now – a very happy person documenting couples’ happiness.
Liz: “We wanted to choose a location that was convenient for our family which was very important to us. We chose a Clifton Club wedding because it is close to our home in Rocky River and easily accessible for our families. We were captivated by the venue’s old-world charm and intimate atmosphere. Additionally, we wanted to have the ceremony outdoors, so it was a great place for both the ceremony and reception.
“Our pastor delivered a beautifully moving sermon, and many guests remarked that it was a day filled with love, feeling strongly that God blessed our celebration. The cake was delicious, and everyone looked fantastic!”
The couple dated a few years and chose not to continue and five years later rekindled their romance. Liz credits their time apart and later attending church together as strengths that helped them improve their communication and understanding.
“Phil has the most generous heart and would do anything for the people he loves. He has always been there for my sons and me, supporting me through many challenges, and I am so grateful to have him as my husband. I hope to be just as wonderful a wife to him.
“Looking back, I see how every step prepared me for this moment. God answered those prayers in ways I couldn’t have imagined. Phil has shown unwavering love and support, and I’m grateful to call him my husband.”
Phil shared his thoughts too and I love that. Not that often the groom writes anything for the post: “For me, the wedding day was crazy but magical. Crazy because we had so many things going on and so many other things to worry about. It was a “long” day that went by at light speed.
“Magical because everything seemed to fall into place just fine, and we had our families there, and Liz looked wonderful.
“From my perspective, we chose a Clifton Club wedding because the grounds looked fantastic, it was close to where we live, it was logistically easy to get to, it had an elegant “classic” appearance and it wasn’t prohibitively expensive.
“I thought their food was really good and everything just seemed to fall into place. Just seeing our families in the audience and taking our vows outside was a wonderful experience that I’ll never forget.”
Okay that sums it all up well. Enjoy the photos!
Tyler and Alex checked themselves in the mirror before doing a first look with their mother Liz.
Father Dan walked his daughter down the aisle.
Liz hugged her good friend Candice.
After dinner it was important to the couple to get a photo of everyone.
