I was excited to finally photograph a wedding at two places that had been on my to do list. A Music Box Supper Club wedding in the flats of Cleveland and St. John Cantius Catholic Church in the Tremont neighborhood of Cleveland.

Jenna and Will both got ready at the Aloft Hotel. After that we were off to the beautiful church for the ceremony.

From there it was time for some fun portraits and then we headed to the Music Box Supper Club wedding reception.

The couple shared some funny stories from their wedding: “We blew out the unity candle seconds after lighting it. Father Roach was able to help us re-light the flame. Many wedding guests took the water taxi to the reception at the Music Box Supper Club. One of the groomsmen ended up on the water on a friend’s Coast Guard boat between the ceremony and reception. He made it back in time for bridal party entrances! Golden hour was beautiful on the cocktail deck outside the bar. Guests saw a fire boat on the river and also enjoyed watching a freighter pass by. Gemma, our flower girl, loved our live band – The Bottom Line – so much that her shoes kept flying off. She is just three and her father Nick was nearby to reload her shoes for the next song.

“Jess from Kirkbrides helped our wedding vision come to life! Our wedding was colorful and lively, just like the month of June. We are life-long die-hard Clevelanders, born and raised. We both love this city and its history, so we wanted a ceremony and reception set in iconic parts of town. Jenn’s Polish-Catholic church in Tremont and Music Box Supper Club in the heart of the flats. Our wedding favor included a CLE Bar from our beloved Malley’s.”

I can’t wait to get back to St. John Cantius Catholic Church and Music Box Supper Club. I already have a wedding at the church next year. Now I just need to book another reception at Music Box Supper Club.

“Will’s grandparents Bob and Marilee celebrated a 60th wedding anniversary two days before our wedding date – at the time they got married they weren’t able to have a proper wedding ceremony. Will and I wanted to do something at our wedding to recognize this amazing milestone – so they gave us one of their favorite songs for a proper first dance.”
